Heartsaver CPR & First Aid Online Course
Heartsaver CPR & First Aid Online Course And Skills Check
Heartsaver CPR & First Aid hybrid online certification course includes two parts:
- Part 1 – A go at your own pace online course (3-4 hours based on experience)
- Part 2 – Skills test at our facility
Heartsaver online utilizes simulation technology and scenario-based learning that is self-directed on your computer. The course also covers all of the same material as a traditional classroom-based Heartsaver CPR & First Aid and first aid class.
Part 1 must be paired with a hands-on skills practice and testing session with an AHA Heartsaver CPR & First Aid Instructor through Save A Life CPR. Students who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate that allows them entrance to a skills practice and testing session. An AHA Heartsaver CPR & First Aid course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of all three parts within 60 days of the online course purchase.
Students may access all material included in the Heartsaver CPR & First Aid Online Part 1 program for 24 months following initial activation of their course key. This replaces the hard copy of the student manual.
Heartsaver courses are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
This class was designed to teach students how to perform CPR, relief of choking, and AED Usage on adult, child, and infants. First aid covers first-response treatment for a number of minor and serious injuries, including muscle and bone injuries, seizures, trauma, allergic reactions, and much more.
This course teaches essential lifesaving skills. During the class, our instructors will carefully guide, observe, and provide feedback to all the students.
This AHA Heartsaver CPR AED and First Aid class covers the following topics:
- Scene Safety and Assessment
- Adult CPR
- Child and infant CPR
- AED Use
- Adult, Child & Infant Choking
- First Aid Basics (duties, roles, and responsibilities of first aid rescuers, key steps of first aid)
- Medical Emergencies
- Injury Emergencies
- Preventing Illness and Injury

- This class fulfills the CPR requirement for the California Teaching Credential
- This class is NOT for Daycare Providers, Preschool Teachers or Bus Drivers (Please take our Pediatric First Aid and CPR Course)
- This class is NOT for people who work in the healthcare field. (Please take our BLS course if you are in healthcare)
- You should have a printable certificate of completion from the AHA online course before taking your skills check at Save A Life CPR in La Mirada.
