(BLS) Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers
The BLS Provider Course trains participants to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. BLS Students will receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider certification card (valid for 2 years) immediately upon successful completion of this class (Multiple choice test required). This program is perfect for professional rescuers: nurses, EMTs, dental/doctor’s office staff, physical therapists and many other healthcare professions. There are no prerequisites for this course. This BLS course is also available online.
Non-healthcare providers are welcome to enroll in the BLS Provider class, or, can take one of our AHA courses designed for the lay-rescuer: Adult, Child, Infant CPR or Adult, Child, Infant CPR & First Aid class.

CE Credits
CE credits are issued to CA dental workers and dentists including DDS, DMD, RDA and RDHs. Please ask & request them at the time of class.
AHA now offers Continuing Education units through CAPCE (Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education) for EMS professionals.
No other professions receive CE Credits.

BLS Book Policy

The AHA requires students to bring the current BLS book to their CPR training class. If you purchase the book from us, you will pick it up on the day of your course. We do not ship the book and you cannot pick up the book prior to class.

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (Online Course & Skills Check)
This Class Has Two Parts:
- Part 1: Online portion (Can be completed in approximately 1-3 hours based on experience).
As soon as you register, you will receive a registration email which includes a link to take the online course for your class. This must be completed before the hands-on portion. - Part 2: A hands-on skills session with one of our AHA authorized CPR instructors. (30+ minutes)
Please reply to the registration email to set up a day and time to conduct the hands-on portion at our office in La Mirada.
AHA BLS Certification Classes
Our BLS courses are for healthcare professionals of all stripes and is required by law. Becoming AHA BLS certified is the responsibility for anyone treating the public, and with periodic changes being made to the guidelines, timely renewal is also mandatory. This means you must renew your certification every two years. With locations servicing Los Angeles County and Orange County and the option to choose from in-person courses or blended online classes, there’s a BLS Certification Class for the way you learn best.
Recertification
Our BLS certification program also includes a recertification or renewal component for current BLS card holders, and can help anyone in the medical field including dentists and EMTs earn continuing education credits (CEU’s). American Heart Association courses, like the ones that Save A Life CPR CPR offers, qualify for CEUs.Â
We offer BLS renewal classes in two quick forms: our classroom based BLS course is designed for those already familiar with BLS and AED protocols. While the second form is a blended online course learning program that takes into account the often hectic schedules of medical professionals and medical students. In this course, students are given the greater portion of the instruction online. After completing the coursework through CPR distance-learning, students are simply asked to come in to our Los Angeles La Mirada office location for a short skills test/check. Once this is completed, students are issued their BLS certification eCard and may begin or continue their medical career in the same way.

Same Day Certification

Our American Heart Association eCards are extremely convenient allowing you to access your eCard certificates anywhere. Paying for replacement/copy certification cards is a thing of the past. Each eCard certificate includes a unique eCard code which allows employers to easily confirm your certificate is valid. Certified individuals as well as employers can visit the American Heart Association (AHA) Certificate Verification web page and enter the AHA eCard number found on the digital CPR Card to access up to date certificate and student information.
