Heartsaver CPR & First Aid Training

Pediatric Heartsaver CPR/AED class is intended for individuals with limited or non-medical training. The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is designed to meet the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for childcare workers in all 50 states. This course teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children. During the class, our instructors will carefully guide, observe, and provide feedback to all the students.

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is designed to meet the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for childcare workers. Pediatric CPR is used in organizations with a workforce where First Aid CPR AED training may prove invaluable for the safety of both their employees and customers (childcare workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, coaches, etc.). The general public that desires to be prepared for an emergency in any setting (parents,  grandparents, babysitters and guardians).

  • This class fulfills the CPR requirement for the California Teaching Credential
  • This class is NOT for people who work in the healthcare field. (Please take our BLS course if you are in healthcare)
  • We also sell CPR, AED and First Aid Supplies.

The student manual is included in the price of the course. The AHA requires that you possess a current Student Manual for the course during and after the class.  If you already have the current Student Manual for the AHA Pediatric CPR and First Aid course, please bring it with you to class to receive a $5 refund. Student Manuals will not be mailed in advance.

Same Day Certification

Save A Life CPR provides same day digital & online certificates (eCards) for our graduates. Our American Heart Association eCards are extremely convenient allowing you to access your eCard certificates anywhere. Paying for replacement/copy certification cards is a thing of the past. Each eCard certificate includes a unique eCard code which allows employers to easily confirm your certificate is valid. Certified individuals as well as employers can visit the American Heart Association (AHA) Certificate Verification web page and enter the AHA eCard number found on the digital CPR Card to access up to date certificate and student information.

EMSA Pediatric CPR And First Aid FAQs

What is the EMSA?

EMSA is an acronym for Emergency Medical Services Authority. This California agency is based in the capital and they require all licensed child care providers and workers to be certified in an EMSA approved CPR and First-aid course.

Is the Pediatric CPR And First Aid class taught by Save A Life CPR approved by the EMSA?

Yes! The American Heart Association’s Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is approved by the Californian EMSA and is the perfect fit for childcare workers, bus drivers and preschool teachers.

Is a special EMSA approved certificate issued at the end of the class?

Yes! Students who successfully complete Save A Life’s course receives an AHA Pediatric First Aid and CPR AED certification that is valid for 2 years. The American Heart Association is exempt from the EMSA sticker requirement and is not needed on your certification to be EMSA compliant.

Is there a pediatric renewal course option for those who are already Pediatric CPR and First Aid certified?

No, at this time the California EMSA does not allow renewal courses, students who are expiring must retake the initial Pediatric First Aid and CPR course.
