Pediatric Heartsaver CPR & First Aid Online Course
EMSA Heartsaver CPR AED Online Course And Skills Check
Pediatric Heartsaver CPR/AED hybrid online certification course includes two parts:
Part 1 – A go at your own pace online course (2-2.5 hours based on experience)
Part 2 – Skills test at our facility
Heartsaver online utilizes simulation technology and scenario-based learning that is self-directed on your computer. The course also covers all of the same material as a traditional classroom-based EMSA approved Pediatric Heartsaver CPR/AED class.
Part 1 must be paired with a hands-on skills practice and testing session with an AHA Pediatric Heartsaver CPR & First Aid Instructor through Save A Life CPR. Students who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate that allows them entrance to a skills practice and testing session. An AHA Pediatric Heartsaver CPR & First Aid course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of all three parts within 60 days of the online course purchase.
Students may access all material included in the Pediatric Heartsaver CPR & First Aid Online Part 1 program for 24 months following initial activation of their course key. This replaces the hard copy of the student manual.
This AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED class covers the following topics:
- Scene Safety and Assessment
- Adult CPR
- Child and infant CPR
- AED Use
- Adult, Child & Infant Choking
- First Aid Basics (duties, roles, and responsibilities of first aid rescuers, key steps of first aid)
- Medical Emergencies
- Injury Emergencies
- Preventing Illness and Injury

- This class is NOT for people who work in the healthcare field. (Please take our BLS course if you are in healthcare)
- You should have a printable certificate of completion from the AHA online course before taking your skills check at Save A Life CPR in La Mirada.
- The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is designed to meet the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for childcare workers. Pediatric CPR is used in organizations with a workforce where First Aid CPR AED training may prove invaluable for the safety of both their employees and customers (childcare workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, coaches, etc.). The general public that desires to be prepared for an emergency in any setting (parents, grandparents, babysitters and guardians).
- This class fulfills the CPR requirement for the California Teaching Credential.
